Creative Benefits for Educators, a company owned by FEA locals, has employed a staff of three Member Benefit Consultants to collaborate with our business partners in servicing FEA locals. The Member Benefit Consultants work closely with the local leadership to help educate members about the unique benefits that are provided by Liberty Mutual, American Fidelity Assurance, Jackson Hewitt, and VALIC. They also support the recruitment and retention efforts of each of the FEA locals in their respective territories by assisting in events, promoting membership and building lasting relationships.

North Florida: Kim Gioe

A Chicago native, Kim moved to Florida in 2004. She was a committed educator with more than 10 years experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school. Kim has been involved with unions either as a member or leader since the age of 16 and it was only natural for her to hold various positions with the St. Johns Education in St. Augustine, including Building Representative, Secretary and 2nd Vice President.

Kim received her Education degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. As the mother of two (in public schools of course), she is a passionate animal lover and keen on physical fitness. Kim's focus is to serve the hard working educators of Florida by effectively promoting the benefits and services that will positively impact their lives.

Central Florida: Mary L. Thomas

Mary L. Thomas has over eighteen years experience in the investment and financial services field in Florida. As a trusted advisor, Mary worked closely with individuals and organizations, uncovering and prioritizing financial goals, implementing plans to actualize dreams, providing education and advice to enrich financial welfare, security and independence. Prior to moving to Florida, Mary was a high school teacher in Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. degree in English from Central Methodist College at Fayette, Missouri, received her K-12 teaching certificate from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Illinois, and successfully completed graduate study courses toward a Masters in English Education at the University of South Florida at Tampa, Florida.

South Florida: Doris Gagnon

Doris Gagnon has over twenty five years of successful experience as an educator, leader, process improvement consultant and financial advisor. She has served in elementary, higher education and corporate training positions and has effectively led the implementation of new initiatives designed to apply best practices, enhance relationships and increase employee participation. Doris holds a B.A. from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH as well as a B.S. and M.S. from Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, MA.
